Joining a crowded market, the new Hyundai Tucson is one of the latest additions to the SUV category, and brings with it heaps of character, style and performance to contend with popular models such as the Nissan Qashqai and Volvo XC90. From the interior and exterior design to its safety and convenience technologies, the Hyundai Tucson aims to please in every facet of the driving experience. So, what can you expect from the new model?

Design

With its trademark hexagonal grill, 17” alloy wheels, chrome effect beltline and contoured side profile, the Hyundai Tucson’s contemporary design makes for a slick and stylish SUV exterior. The interior maintains the contemporary feel with a large panoramic sunroof offering a bright and airy cabin for passengers, along with three options of trim (black, red wine and beige), so you can choose your favourite shade. The interior is also designed for optimum comfort and practicality, with a central fold-out arm rest and cup holders for passengers, as well as fully foldable seats to add more boot space for larger loads.

Technologies

The 2015 Hyundai Tucson is filled with a range of smart features, intended for both safety and convenience. Featured on the SE model and above are rear parking sensors, with added front parking sensors on the Premium models, ideal for city driving. Other convenient features include a smart electric tailgate, a seat adjustment system which includes electric lumber support, as well as heated and ventilated seats.

Safety features include an Autonomous Emergency Brake (AEB) to assist in unexpected incidents in the road ahead, Blind Spot Detection (BSD) to alert you of any unseen oncoming traffic, and Static Cornering Lights (SCL) to help illuminate side roads in dark conditions.

Performance

With 5 engines to choose from, the 2015 Hyundai Tucson offers more choice than ever. The 1.6 GDi and 1.6 T-GDi petrol engines and 1.7 CRDi, 2.0 CRDi, 2.0 CRDi diesel engines offer between approximately 116 – 185 hp between them, with the added option of 2WD or 4WD. Various transmissions are also available, with manual 6-speed, automatic 6-speed, and automatic 7-speed Dual Clutch Transmission (only available on the 1.6 T-GDi) offering variation based on your preferred driving style.

Price

The new Hyundai Tucson price range is varied. Available from £18,495 for the standard model, in both petrol and diesel, to £31,995 for the Premium SE edition, there’s a lot to be said when it comes to choice. With a range of features designed to make your driving experience easier, safer and more enjoyable, the range offers something for various budgets.
